It’s beginning to smell a lot like Christmas!

It’s okay to use the C word now it’s November, yes?   So it’s not stir-up-Sunday yet (Stir up, we beseech thee, O Lord) but I do like to give my Christmas pudding a reasonable time to mature.  As you will see from the photo Christmas is all about Delia for food  making in this house.


I do adapt Delia’s Christmas pudding recipe a little, using sherry and rum rather than barley wine, stout and rum – this little tweak has always worked for us.

The kitchen smells wonderful as this bowl of pudding-to-be sits, covered, waiting to be steamed tomorrow after which it will be put away somewhere dark and cool until Christmas Day.  Next weekend will be Christmas cake making – more wonderful smells from the kitchen!
