Chocolate gingers

OH was 50 yesterday so I didn’t get round to posting.   However I thought I’d post today about one of the presents small person helped me to make.  OH has a love of chocolate ginger – which are very easy to buy but it is nice for small person to make him a present.   This is hardly a recipe and the simplest thing in the world to make.

Take as much dark chocolate as you think you (or whoever you are making them for) can eat and then chop up some pieces of stem ginger (I always use crystalised stem ginger as OH particularly likes this).   Put the chocolate in a bowl over a pan of simmering water and let it melt slowly.    Put the chopped stem ginger in your moulds and then cover with chocolate when melted.

Small person does all this with minimal supervision so it really is a present she makes.   It does get messy but that is okay.   Put in the fridge to set and remove from moulds when ready.  I always use silicone moulds as it is really easy to get the chocolates out.

OH was delighted to be met by small person holding a plate of chocolate gingers when he got home from work yesterday!
