Hand and nail oils

If you have carried out any of the scrubs/exfoliants/masks that I have suggested over the last couple of nights then you hands will already be quite pampered.

What more can be done?  Well, nails are the focus tonight.   Many people will have their own manicure routine but I have got a few ideas here that you might be interested in trying.

Your cuticles will be soft enough to push back gently with a cotton wool covered cuticle stick if you have just treated your hands to a mask.  If not soak your finger tips in some apple cider vinegar for five minutes and then work on your cuticles.

Sweet almond oil is a good base oil for nail treatments.    Add tea tree oil if you have any fungal nail infection that needs attention.  Try to work a drop of this mix into the problem nail or nails twice a day until the infection clears.

If you want to improve the strength of your nails then lemon essential oil added to a base oil such as sweet almond oil will make a good treatment.  Massage a drop of the mix in to each nail regularly and this will encourage better, stronger growth. The circulation to the nail is stimulated by the massage and this will help the nails to get stronger.

Ratios for these treatments:  20 drops of essential oil to every 2 tablespoons of base oil.
