Burgers, knitting, decluttering and menu plan for the week

I didn’t manage to post yesterday so quite a few different things to be covered today.

To start with, dinner from last night – homemade burgers.  We always make our own burgers and meatballs because it is cheaper to buy good quality mince and season and shape them yourself than to buy good quality burgers ready to cook.

This is hardly a recipe:  take good quality mince, season well with salt and pepper:

I always make mine a few hours before we want to cook them, and leave them in the fridge to firm up a bit, they seem to hold their shape better when cooking.

I always grill so that the fat comes away, it makes for a messy job in cleaning the grill pan after cooking but I’d rather this way.

We had them with a tiny bit of grated cheese on the top, lots of salad and a toasted English muffin.

The knitting is coming on.   One and a third sleeves have been completed in the last couple of days.  I should have the jumper finished, pressed and sewn together by the end of the week.

I have made a start on the pre-move decluttering.  There is a lot to do but I have stuck to getting a bag done a day.

Menu plan for the week:

Today:  homemade steak pie (from the freezer), mash, veg and gravy

Monday:  Tuna and pasta salad

Tuesday: Cheese and potato pie

Wednesday: Sausages, cous cous and roasted vegetables

Thursday: chickpea and spinach curry

Friday: homemade fish and chips

Hope you all had a good weekend.
