I think I have mentioned Hestercombe Gardens before.
It is a lovely place just outside of Taunton in Somerset.
Flo and I went with a friend and her two girls and had the best time. There was an Easter trail which the girls did but they had most fun just running around, wadding through streams (they did have wellies on), climbing over fallen trees, standing close enough to the waterfall to get quite wet, playing hide and seek, balancing on rocks, rolling down hills and not sitting still except to each a picnic lunch.
It was so good to see three children play for six hours getting wet, muddy, running around and wanting no other stimulation than the nature that surrounded them. We had a picnic in the sunshine and left when the gardens closed at 6pm.
