Recent holiday saw not only a lot of reading of books I took with me but a few purchases as well.
books
A little light reading
I am not overly busy with work at the moment, I don’t have any courses running through July and August (I did have a couple of day schools to teach but they are done now) so only have a handful of individual students.
Contrasts
Teaching is a wonderful and often challenging job and one that can be full of contrasts.
Why has it taken me so long…
To get round to reading some Sarah Waters?
To be read
As part of my much needed study-tidy which I mentioned previously I have sorted out my ‘to-be-read’ book pile and they are all neatly stacked on a shelf.
This is quite a manageable pile for me but as I have a dozen books on their way to me from Amazon for some summer courses I am teaching I’m not altogether sure how much of an inroad I am likely to make anytime soon.
Still, they are not going anywhere so as and when …
Enough already …
Of the football.
For three years and 11 months OH can be largely indifferent to the appeal of 22 men kicking a ball around a pitch but the World Cup – woo hoo!
Who knew that seven matches over one weekend could be so captivating.
I didn’t – and still don’t.
And it’s really only just started – another month of this?! My sanity…
For the most part I am happy being a one TV household but this weekend made me rethink that a little.
Still my study is looking very tidy and I got lots of reading done so it is a win – win really.
Anybody else wishing football had never been invented?
Lucky finds
I do love a bit of luck in the charity shop.
British Library Crime Classics
I had to do a little bit of book shopping yesterday…
A little indulgence…
To help the day along.
Decisions have been made!
The next lot of knitting will be with cotton yarn.
